Suction type fuel dispensers :

Fuel Dispensers have motor&suction system included in their case so every dispenser can work indepently. This means if one dispenser has problem with motor or suction line, others can still continue to work.

Submersible type fuel dispenser :

Dispensers does not have motor&suction system included in their frame so every dispenser can not work indepently. All dispensers in the station are depent on submersible pumps on the tank. this system is more like LPG systems, they are cheaper but if you have a problem in the submersible pump, all dispensers will stop to work.

Because of the costs&performance issues, most of the customers prefer to use mostly submersible systems in the todays market.

A submersible fuel pump is a kind of pumping device which has a hermetically sealed motor close-coupled to the pump body. Whole assembly is submerged in the fuel to be pumped. The main advantage of this type of pump is that it prevents pump cavitation, a problem associated with a high elevation difference between pump and the fuel surface. Submersible fuel pumps push fuel from underground tank to fuel dispensers that are connected to this line.
